The transition of the concrete from the pump cell to the boom pipe creates turbulence and makes the area a high-wear zone. In the reducer, the wear on the inner wall can be extreme in many applications. In the subsequent elbow, increased wear occurs in the bend outlet due to the change in direction of the delivery flow. Con Forms reducers with CCI inner sleeves and bends with reinforced outlet extensions optimize these points and will last much longer than low-cost, unhardened steel pipes and components.
