Modena Gets On-Site Training on Their New 16-Z Spider Placer

Modena Concrete Pumping out of La Honda, CA is the proud new owners of a Con Forms 16-Z Spider Placer.

The 16-Z is a cost-effective solution for all low-ceiling indoor concrete placements. The low 13’ 1” opening height allows for operations all the way into most commercial and warehouse pours, and the maneuverability of the track unit combined with the small outrigger profile allows for custom machine setups to match the jobsite dimensions, resulting in the maximum coverage possible.  This tracked unit is also great for mobility on mat pours where a crane is not always available.

The 16-Z has the flexibility to quickly transform into a stand-alone placing unit that is lifted into place and operates on non-tracked applications like high-rise pours. In comparison to 20m boom trucks used on similar low-clearance applications, the 16-Z has a smaller profile, better mobility, and the same horizontal reach.

As part of Con Forms’ product support, we sent our Spider Technical Specialist, Chris Leicht, out West to demonstrate the capabilities of the new unit and answer any questions they had regarding the operation and routine maintenance.  Having an experienced operator on-site to show the Modena team the ins-and-outs of the Spider proved to be extremely helpful to the crew, as there were many questions on the new placer.

Con Forms strives to provide the highest-quality product with unrivaled support.  On-site training is available for all of our Spider Placer unites, and we now have a 24 hour support line for troubleshooting issues on the fly.

Looking at owner Hank Modena’s new truck, I think it’s safe to say he is a fan of the new addition to his fleet.  Pump on, Modena!
