In December 2023, the team in our Port Washington, WI, facility had the pleasure of meeting the students at @Rocket Academy to talk about what we do here at Con Forms and give them some hands-on experience on the floor. Rocket Academy is an innovative public, tuition-free charter school for 11th and 12th graders who are interested in advanced manufacturing careers.
Mike Teunissen, our Plant Manager, toured the students around the shop floor and demonstrated our robot welding technology. While our QC engineer, James Drake, provided some insight into how detailed measurements are made down to 1/1000 of an inch! At this time in our country’s development, it is more important than ever to identify and encourage our emerging workforce to consider a career in US-based manufacturing.
This was a great opportunity to meet local talent and give them insight into a potentially long-term and lucrative career in industrial operations.
We wish them the best of luck and hope to welcome a few of them to CFI when they graduate.
