American Welding Society Holds Event At Con Forms Global Headquarters

On Thursday November 10, 2016, The American Welding Society’s Milwaukee Section sponsored a tour event at Construction Forms, Inc. global headquarters in Port Washington Wisconsin. The event brought more than 30 professionals out to learn about how welding is part of the manufacturing process at Con Forms.

Con Forms engineering manager Tim Muhl, kicked off the evening with a presentation which provided some detail as to how Con Forms fabricates superior concrete pumping products for the construction industry. The presentation also shared some of the unique processes used, and how Con Forms maintains it’s extremely high level of quality and consistency in an ever-changing manufacturing environment.

The group was then given tours focused on the heat treating, welding, metallurgy laboratory, test area, and machine shop. The tours demonstrated the process of manufacturing finished concrete pumping pipe, elbows, and accessories for the concrete pumping industry.
